Hey gang! Well, it’s finally happening: Afterlife Inc. Volume 4: Man Made God is live on Kickstarter! And as our first week of funding gets underway we’ve already made great progress, hitting 25% of our funding target in just under five days. It’s an amazing start, true, but as with my previous projects, running a Kickstarter campaign is invariably nerve-wracking. Well, aside from the Book of Life. That puppy pretty much ran itself. I guess people really go crazy for hardbacks.
But hey, it is an amazing start – and I only have you wonderful people to thank for taking us this far in such a short space of time. Thank you, thank you, thank you for pledging your support to Man Made God. This book represents something big for Afterlife Inc. – and, I guess, for me too. It’s the beginning of the stories I’ve been wanting to tell since the earliest days of Afterlife Inc., back when the comic was little more than an idle dream and some scribbles on borrowed paper (I was travelling across Canada at the time – I didn’t have my own notebook). Even when I started making Afterlife Inc. comics for real, I shied away from these stories. I wasn’t good enough as a writer; I couldn’t possibly do them justice.
Now, with five books under my belt, the time is right. I can’t wait to walk this path with Jack and Co. and the whole crazy cast of Afterlife Inc. characters. I love this motley crew more than I could have thought possible – and even though dark skies await on the horizon for our heroes, I know the journey is going to be amazing. It all begins with Man Made God, folks. I hope you’ll join us along the way.

Just, you know… use a safety harness or something if you’re going with that last one.
