Face(book) the music

I’ve tried on at least three occasions in my life to blog on a regular basis. I think the time may have come to admit that the dream is dead.

Rather than open with an apology, as with so many of my previous returns to the art form, I’m instead going to leap right into a couple of announcements. In fairness, maybe this is the best format for me going forward. I want to inject some personality into the site, particularly as, if I didn’t surface from time to time, you’d all think I’d fallen off a cliff, but I don’t have the time to go into the level of detail I’d like. Quantity over quality may be the answer. Short, sharp updates rather than mini-essays.

But yes, that announcement.

In a small but significant development for Afterlife Inc. I’m making efforts to expand the Facebook page.

‘Facebook?’ I hear you cry. ‘Facebook!? That soulless, multinational conglomerate with the questionable business practices?’

Well… yes. But let’s be honest, it’s better than Twitter.

I’m lucky enough to have some wonderful fans and supporters of Afterlife Inc. I would never have reached this point – publishing volume 5 – if it weren’t for the people who took the time to buy a book at a convention, back me on Kickstarter or Patreon, or even just comment on the website. The problem, however, is that Afterlife Inc.’s fan are spread out, with no real home for them to come together and discuss the comic.

With that in mind, and particularly with volume 5 now updating, it would mean the world if you could head on over to Facebook and give us a like. Attached to that page is the official Afterlife Inc. fan group, which you’re more than welcome to join.

Facebook moves in mysterious ways, with pages no longer being the haven of engagement they used to be. Groups, on the other hand… well, the hot word on the street is that groups are the place to be. You’ll still be welcome to comment on the website as each new page goes live, but if you’re looking for another place to share your Afterlife Inc. love I really hope you’ll consider making this your new home away from home.
