The Book of Death is complete!
Hi everyone
After several months of hard work, I’m very happy to announce that the Book of Death, the second of our two hardback collected editions, is finally complete!
While it’s been fun/exhausting to collate and arrange three books’ worth of content, the real joy has been working on bonus content – with the icing on the cake being an exclusive new 10-page story that will only see print in the Book of Death.
Featuring artwork by the incredible Gav Mitchell (Afterlife Inc. Volume 5, Steve Jackson’s The Trolltooth Wars), The Golden Age takes place at an indeterminate point in Afterlife Inc.’s history in which Jack and Anahel investigate a strange anomaly in Shehaqim… only to learn a thing or two about being a hero.

The three books that make up the Book of Death (Volumes 4-6) comprise arguably the darkest chapter in Afterlife Inc.’s history, in which Jack’s vast golden dream for the future is put to the harshest of tests. As the action concludes at the end of Volume 6 it remains to be seen if there’s even a company left to save.
Given this dark state of affairs, and perhaps echoing some of my personal exhaustion after 10 years of storytelling, it was nice to revisit a simpler time in The Golden Age and to explore what it means to keep going when times get tough.
The Golden Age is about an idea that just won’t die – and the gold that keeps on shining through, despite the hardship.

With the Book of Death now in the bag, all that remains is to finish our remastering of the Book of Life – with only 13 pages (out of 376) left to re-letter. Logistics and planning aside, this means it’s a clear path to the launch of the Kickstarter and the release of these two beasts.
I look forward to sharing more updates soon. Don’t forget that you can also sign up to the newsletter to receive Book of Life/Book of Death news direct to your inbox. Thanks for all the support over the last 10 years, folks. Can’t believe we made it to a decade. Couldn’t have done it without you.
